A simple brochure can really help to boost the marketing of your business
Many businesses rely on a simple brochure as a way to introduce themselves and promote their services or products. If you do not currently have a company brochure or even a leaflet, then put ‘get a new corporate brochure’ on your to-do list as a priority for this month!
Competition between businesses has never been more fierce and it is critical that you do not use the age-old business card as your primary promotional tool when networking or meeting new or prospective clients.
Business cards are useful and can be quite creative in some cases, there are also some effective marketing techniques you can use to promote and market your business on a single business card. However, if your business card simply states the name of your ‘Computer IT and Networking Company’ for example, and your current position, it is definitely not going to get you the results that you need in this competitive marketplace.
Consider this; everybody in your company has business cards with the company logo on them, the generic company website, and contact information and details, right? So, when you put ‘your’ business card into someone else’s hand and he or she hands one to you at your next business meeting, what is unique about that exchange of information? Nothing. All you are effectively doing is exchanging contact details, which nowadays can be found with a simple search using Google!
By simply exchanging business cards, you are not introducing your company, promoting your products or services effectively and certainly not setting your company above your competitors.
Change your mindset!
Below is a list of 10 ways in which you can use a simple brochure or leaflet to effectively market your business:
1. Seeing Double
Mail two copies to all of your current customers or clients. One is for the client or customer to keep. The other is for them to pass on to someone else who could utilise your services.
2. Introduce Yourself
Mail a copy to each one of your prospects with a covering letter of introduction and why they should keep hold of your brochure and contact information.
3. Referral Opportunities
Give at least 25 copies to any professionals who are good referral sources, and encourage them to pass them along to their clients or customers.
4. Planned Campaigns
Use a simple brochure as part of your 12-Month Branding and Marketing Campaign.
5. Cold Leads
Mail it to cold prospects as part of your ‘Six Week Client Blitz’.
6. Networking Events
Use it as a substitute for your business card at networking events. If you feel like your brochures are too large to carry around, get contacts’ business cards and mail them your brochures, immediately after the event.
7. Presentations and Seminars
Hand them out at seminars as part of your information package, prior to your presentation.
8. Press Kits and Information Packs
Include them in press kits and information packages that you send to the media.
9. Trade Fairs and Event Publicity
If you have stands at tradeshows, job fairs, and special events then make sure you have plenty of brochures with you for your visitors.
10. Get Yourself Seen
Place them in diverse locations like hotel front desks, libraries, restaurants, golf courses, theatres, hair salons, doctor and dental surgeries, town centre information centres, village halls, and any other places where potential quality prospects may frequent.
Does the ‘world’ need to know about your company? YES.
Does the ‘world’ need to know about your company’s products and services? OF COURSE.
So, don’t be stingy when those brochures arrive and pass them out instead of keeping them in a box in the cupboard or storeroom!
